I’m not an art historian, by hobby or profession, so I’m looking for others to weigh in on this. Watching Thor: Ragnarok last night, I noticed the halos in the murals that Hela destroys in Asgard look distinctly medieval. The accents and embellishments look Norse to the untrained eye, but the figures, scenery, etc., look very out of place. Thoughts from better-trained eyes and brains?Of course, to say that Norse gods existed in a time before medieval art is ridiculous on a lot of levels, given that this is a superhero movie set on a distant planet in 2017, and also they’re mythological figures. But humor me, please.Links to some photos of the murals:https://ift.tt/30dnVPu via /r/ArtHistory https://ift.tt/2Nbcar0
